Welcome to Beach

Beach Salt life is something we think about when we think summer vacations, but in Fairfield, you can experience the beach life every day! To have the scent of saltwater waft through the windows year-round, watch the waves crash on the shore, to see the seagulls resting on the water and driftwood, and to live just minutes from many beaches, it’s all possible in Fairfield! There are 5 beaches in all of Fairfield but the “beach area” is the neighborhood between the Marina, Jennings & Penfield Beach, and the Post Road. Here, winters could be spent walking your dog to the beach to play with other neighborhood dogs and watch the horses stroll on the sand. Summer days are spent laying on the beach reading, swimming, and skim boarding. Nights were filled with dinners on the beach, BBQs and bonfires, pick-up volleyball games, movie nights, clam bakes, sand jams, and the annual carnivals. Front row seats for the 4th of July fireworks were a breeze to find. Penfield Beach is over 3 acres long – and if the tide is just right, you can even walk to Penfield Lighthouse. Parties can even be held at Penfield Pavilion where you can dance the night away with the moon shining over the water. Besides this neighborhood having that coastal feel and views, it also includes Veterans Park, Sandcastle Playground (located in Jennings Beach), the Fairfield Museum and History Center, and Par 3 Golf Course. There are many historic homes in this area, (check out the ones on Old Post Road), and many newer construction homes on Fairfield Beach Road. Fairfield Beach Road is an eight-minute walk to downtown Fairfield, home to a variety of shops and restaurants, not to mention the train station... NYC here you come!
