Today boasts stunning million-dollar estates with a variety of architectural details, top-rated schools.
This small village is full of so much New England Charm and rich history. Southport was one of the leading Ports in the 1800s, shipping produces like onions, carrots, and potatoes from local farms to areas like New York and beyond. Southport became one of the most prosperous and prestigious communities, building banks, churches, schools, its own shops, and soon enough, the train. Today, Southport boasts stunning million-dollar estates with a variety of architectural details, top-rated schools, delicious restaurants for the foodie in you, sandy beaches, hiking and bike paths, and yacht clubs for the water lover.
• One of the most prosperous and prestigious communities.
• The close-knit community feels.
• Downtown Fairfield, Southport Train station, shops, and restaurants within walking distance.
Our location is absolutely great and so convenient. We are within walking distance to Mill Hill Elementary School and it’s a short drive to the Southport train station. It’s a very easy commute to the city and this neighborhood is so peaceful and private, it’s such an escape after being in a busy city all day. Our home is also very close to shops, restaurants, stores, transit, beaches, and so much more.
The Sasco neighborhood encompasses one of the most prestigious streets in all of Connecticut, Sasco Hill Road, and is situated in Southport. The Sasco neighborhood boasts historic multi-million dollar houses, views of the Southport Harbor, Long Island Sound, and Sasco Hill Beach. This secluded beach on 9.9 acres is accessible to residents only and is one of our favorite beaches to bring dinner to and watch the sunset. The Country Club of Fairfield is also located on Sasco Hill Road and leads down to the water. The homes that sit off Sasco Hill Road behind gated drives offer incredible privacy and sweeping views.
For many, the Sasco Hill neighborhood stretches down to South Pine Creek Road, with modest homes and another beach. Southport Village shops, restaurants, and Southport Train station, and downtown Fairfield are both within walking distance from homes in the Sasco neighborhood, making this one of the most centrally located neighborhoods in town!
One thing that is unique about Southport is their annual “Rooms with a View” design event, hosted by the Southport Congregational Church. Each year, 12 designers are invited to create 6’ by 8’ vignettes – mini rooms staged in the library and great hall of the church, with proceeds benefitting various charities. Pequot Library, another staple of Southport, is located in a historic building and holds more than 750 annual events and programs! Some of our favorites include the bike parade, Derby Day, Yoga on the lawn, and more! The Pequot Yacht Club, located on Southport Harbor, provides junior sailing lessons and activities. Southport Park is another great spot to walk and de-stress – it’s a tranquil spot in the middle of a bustling neighborhood.
We have a soft spot for Southport, especially since our office is located in this neighborhood! We love all the wonderful things Southport has to offer, including Southport Beach, the close-knit community feel and historic homes on Harbor Road and Pequot Avenue, and unique restaurants like the Artisan, Spic, and Span, and the Grey Goose. The Southport train station is in the middle of this neighborhood and is still close to downtown Fairfield and Westport.
Looking to bike, hike, play tennis, baseball, soccer, or golf? Old Dam Road is home to some of Fairfield’s Park and Recreation soccer fields, baseball fields and even has a hiking/bike path that stretches from Old Dam Road out to Veres Street. This neighborhood also has the Par 3 Golf Course, a 9 hole course that everyone in town can enjoy, from beginners to seasoned golfers, along with the new Fairfield Tennis Club which features 6 championship courts both inside and out!
